ATMs that "receive" smartphones instead of cards

"Alfa-Bank" has installed the first ATMs in Russia, allowing you to withdraw cash and replenish accounts without the participation of a plastic card. For the operation, you need a device - whether it's a smartphone or smart clock - with support for the payment function Android Pay, Samsung Pay or Apple Pay.

While ATMs of Alfa Bank support only MasterCard cards, support for maps of other systems is expected before the end of the year.

To use the services of the bank without the presence of "plastic", the user will need to lean the smartphone to the NFC-reader. In addition to Alfa-Bank, other financial organizations are going to equip ATMs with NFC-chips. In autumn, the function of withdrawing cash using mobile purses at ATMs plans to launch the "Discovery", and VTB Group has already begun to equip the ATM network with such devices.

Banking analysts believe that contactless ATMs will significantly reduce the time of customer service in comparison with the withdrawal of cash in a traditional way. Moreover, customers will not need to have a bank card with them, which is very convenient.
