Research on data mining technology are being continued

The next seminar of Department  No. 13 on "Data Mining" course based on "Data Mining: Concepts and Techniques" book  was held at the Institute of Information Technology.  The seminar was  dedicated to the discussion of third chapter of the book- the initial processing of the data.

Magistrate of Institute Shalala Mansurova  presented a report  on "Data mining" topic. It is possible to get  necessary knowledge and information from large-scale data collection through "data mining", new and rapidly developing fields of science. She informed about data cleaning, integration, size reduction, transformation stages which covers the third chapter of the book.

“Data integration is consist of wide variety of data sources that analyzed’’ – she noted.  She also informed about the problems during the data integration. The inclusion of metadata  is used  as the solution to the problem encountered in the identification.

She said that normalization methods are used for  data transformation. For this purpose, "min-max", "z-score" normalization and other types are applied.

In the end, there was an exchange of views on the subject, many questions were answered.
