How to fight spams?

Seminar of  Department No. 4 of the  Institute of Information Technology was held. Deputy Director, PhD, associate professor Rashid Alakbarov informed about the issues on the agenda. He noted that the seminar was dedicated to methods of fighting spam in AzScienceNet network.

Administrator of  AzScienceNet Data Center Tural Mustafayev who presented the report, noted that, spams in the advertising or other  information content were being  sent  to e-mail addresses anonymously.

Speaking about the history of spams T. Mustafayev said that, in 1937, spam was registered  as a trade mark by the "Hormel" company, in the 80s, a large number of electronic messages in  advertising content had begun to spread at "Usenet" conferences.

Then, the reporter informed about countries with a high prevalence of spam and presented graphic demonstrating volume of spam mail in global e-mail traffic.

He also spoke about ways to fight spam, in order to prevent the spread of them corporate or personal e-mail addresses should not replaced in the pages of  public announcements, intended for personal use or should not sign up doubtful services, spam messages should not opened, as well as, double privacy code should be used and complex passwords should be used as much as possible.
