Digital heritage challenges

"Digital Heritage: Challenges and Perspectives" is being investigated  at Institute of Information Technology.

Sector chief of department No. 1, PhD  Rena Gasimova informed  about this. Speaking about the digital heritage she said that it is a concept created in digital form and  covering  cultural, educational, scientific and administrative, as well as technical, legal, medical and other types of information converted from available analog resources  into digital form.

Head of the sector speak about the risk of loss of the digital heritage in this field, technological infrastructure, storage, destruction and  obsolescence of digital media, accessibility, security and so on.

She highlighted that a number of separate programs and projects carried out in the digital heritage issues, the protection of digital heritage  the focus of many international governmental and non-governmental organizations, including, UNESCO .

Analyzing the current state  in this field in Azerbaijan, R. Gasimova informed about  programs and projects  on  national heritage protection, preservation and digitization.

In the end, the report was discussed, questions were answered.
