Institute of Information Technology held a meeting with representatives of the International Think Tank for Landlocked Developing Countries Sansar Sosorbaram and Dr. Barney Tan. The exchange of experience for ICT development, implementation of joint projects and organization of seminars and conferences among the member states of the International Think Tank for Land Locked Developing Countries were the main objectives of meeting.
The establishment of the International Think Tank for Landlocked Developing Countries initiative has been put forward by President of Mongolia. The project supported by the UN, intends to sign agreement between 32 countries, including Azerbaijan. Facilitating transit, poverty reduction and simplification of trade relations by bringing countries together are the main objectives.
S.Sosorbaram noted that the center's headquarters is located in the capital of Mongolia, Ulan-Bator. The launch of this organization requires the ratification of at least 10 countries, negotiations with the Azerbaijan to participate in the project is currently being conducted.
Informing about the main activities of the institute, academician-Secretary of ANAS, director of the institute, academician Rasim Alguliyev spoke about the scientific researches on problems of information technology and information society. Researches on information security, biometric technology, information and knowledge economy, software engineering, formation of e-government, e-education and so on. are being continued, he noted.
In the end, it was decided to present the scientific results in ICT field of Institute of Information Technology to the International Think Tank.
