Doctoral exams in Informatics held in remote form for researchers living in Nakhchivan and Ganja

According to the Decree of the President of ANAS, Academician Akif Alizadeh, 2016 doctoral exams in Informatics of doctoral students and candidates for regional universities and research institutions are held on the basis of test technologies in remote form via the Internet.

Today, between the center of Distance Learning System of the Institute of Information Technology of ANAS and Ganja Branch of the Academy has established a direct link with the purpose of carrying out remote doctoral examinations for researchers living in Ganja. Deputy Director of the Institute, PhD in Engineering, Associate Professor Rashid Alakbarov, chief department, Dr. Engineering Ramiz Aliguliyev and Head of Training and Innovation Centre Rasmiya Mahmudova got acquainted with the exam.

Stressing the importance of creating Distance Learning Center, deputy director Rashid Alakbarov noted that this center is a bridge of science and education between the advanced regional and international research institutions, creates opportunities for distance learning doctoral students and candidates, conferences and seminars in the online mode, strengthening relations of cooperation between scientists, both domestically and in the international arena.

Noting that the examinations are conducted on the basis of test technologies, the scientist said that this system ensures transparency of the examination process and is important from the point of view of an objective assessment of the participants' knowledge of the exam.

R.Alakbarov also talked about the broad opportunities of AzScienceNet scientific computer network, providing institutions and organizations of the Academy of advanced network services. He noted that national operator AzScienceNet network successfully represents our country in the European Commission. He also brought to the attention that AzScienceNet obtaining in 2016 access to the GEANT (1 Gbit / s) network that provides network services to all scientific and educational institutions in Europe, Azerbaijan is rapidly integrating into the European scientific and educational environment. These opportunities will also be able to take advantage of research institutions and universities active in the region.

In conclusion, the scientist wished success to the participants of the exam.

Then, speaking, Academician-Secretary of the Ganja Branch of ANAS, Academician Fuad Aliyev said that research is carried out more than 150 young scientists and specialists in Ganja city. Creation of the department Distance Learning Center was assessed as a positive development in terms of the establishment and development of international cooperation with leading research institutes and universities. On behalf of the department staff expressed gratitude to the leadership of ANAS and the scientists and specialists of the Institute of Information Technology for their support in the opening of the center.

The exam was attended by about 100 doctoral students and candidates from Ganja and Nakhchivan.

It should be noted that on January 27 at the Nakhchivan Branch of ANAS and Nakhchivan State University were held remote doctoral examinations in Informatics for researchers living in the region.
