Problems of providing Safer Internet for Kids was discussed

Meeting of the Scientific Board of the Institute of Information Technology was held. Opening the meeting the academician-secretary of ANAS, director of the Institute of Information Technologies, academician Rasim Aliguliyev said that meeting was devoted to discussion of the problems of ensuring the safety of children on the internet.

He said that there are approaches and challenges that exist in the international community on this issue. Scientist talking about in this field in the UK "The Internet Watch Foundation" organization has an important role. He noted that the appeals on the basis of such organizations are fighting against the dangers encountered on the Internet.

"Media outlets should be carried out by specialists, and the problem must be popularized awareness activities on a regular basis," - said the scientis, a need to examine the existing problems in this area, he said. The scientist stressed the importance of taking measures in this direction together with the relevant bodies.

He also emphasized the importance of founding center under the Training and Innovation Center which deals with the problems of children in the provision of Internet security. The scientist noted that, from the center of the intellectual analysis of data will be important for the solution of these problems

Then the employee of Internatioanl Relations Department-Aysel Aliyeva made a report about “Better Internet for Kids”.She noted that following a succession of safer Internet programs from 1999 to 2013 the Better internet for kids projects is the latest European Commission-funded initiative aimed at creating a better internet for Europe’s children and youth. The BIK project is jointly managed by European Schoolnet (EUN) which coordinates the Insafe network and by the International Association of Internet Hotlines (INHOPE).Reporter stated that across the globe 31 Safer Internet Day Centers, more than 90 additional safer internet day commitees and supporters, more than 2000 additional stakeholders across research, industry and civil society supporting the BIK agennda in locally, nationally and internationlly.

According to her words Safer Internet Day was celebrated 9 February in 2016. And its slogan was “Play you part for a better internet”.This year Safer Internet Day 2017 wil be celebrated in 7 February in 2017.Its slogan will be “Be the change: Unite for a better Internet”.

A.Aliyeva also gave detailed information about activities proposed for Safer Internet Day. Typically the SID Committee will lead one or more actions on Safer Internet Day which may include but not limited to: the launch of an awareness campaign in the media (for example, via video clips, radio announcements, songs, banners in social networking sites, etc), a special television programme, a competition for children, a conference with leading fiqures in the sector, in particular parents, children, researchers and industry, apress conference involving celebrities who support SID etc.

Afterwards she provides information about UK Safer Internet Day Centre and Russian Safer Internet Day Centre and Kazakhistan Safer Internet Day Committee.

In the end, there was an exchange of views on the subject, many questions were answered.
