Rational use of resources of "Thomson Reuters" scientific database assumes a great deal of importance in terms of integration to world’s science

A regular meeting of Scientific Board of the Institute of Information Technology was held.  Today, conduction of scientific research in international level  around the world , publication of scientific articles in  indexed journals, improvement of international relations in this field, representation of Azerbaijani science in  international scientific bases assumes a great deal of importance, Academician-Secretary of ANAS, director of the Institute of Information Technology, academician Rasim Alguliyev emphasized.

Recently, for this purpose the National Academy of Sciences has established partnership with prestigious organization "Thomson Reuters".  Academic spoke about the importance of rational use of resources of "Thomson Reuters", evaluation of scientific activities and articles of scholars, the adoption of publishing technologies in journals.

Then, representative of  "Thomson Reuters" Agency in Azerbaijan Aygun Babazadeh  delivered a presentation  on the use of ''Web of Science"  services  of "Thomson Reuters".  “Web of Science” is an online subscription-based scientific citation indexing service maintained by Thomson Reuters that provides a comprehensive citation search. The coverage includes: the sciences, social sciences, arts, and humanities, and goes across disciplines.

Aygun Babazadeh gave detailed information about databases existing in "Web of Science", key collection of the platform.  17000 journals included to the collection are the world's most prestigious journals, she noted.

She also introduced  articles published by scientists and experts of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, their reference index,  scientific journals  in which articles of Azerbaijani scholar were published.

In the end, there was an exchange of views on the subject, many questions were answered.
