Huawei unveils AI-enabled smartphone

After teasing the Honor Magic “concept” phone for weeks, Huawei has officially unveiled the smartphone in China. The phone comes with interesting features that also includes artificial intelligence.
 
Getting on to the specs, the Honor Magic features a 5.09 inch QHD curved AMOLED (2560 x 1440 pixels) display along with a double 3D glass cover that helps in reflecting shinny light. It has a new designed home button access, which replaces the usual ‘back’ and ‘overview’ buttons and can be used by using touch, double tap or swipe. The home button also works as a fingerprint sensor as well.
 
Powering the handset is a 2.3GHz Kirin 950 64-bit octa-core processor, coupled with 4GB RAM along with an inbuilt storage of 64GB and to click images and record videos, the phone gets a 12 Megapixel rear dual camera setup with f/2.2 aperture, whereas on the front is an 8 Megapixel sensor with f/2.0 aperture.
 
It runs on Android v6.0 Marshmallow OS, skinned with Honor Magic Live accompanied with artificial intelligence. It comes with an IRIS scanner along with a FaceCode feature that recognises and unlocks the screen, apart from the fingerprint scanner. Other features include Huaweis "deep think" technology, which lets the users find more information about the topic or place by long pressing and holding the home screen button.
 
Huawei went on to say on one of its statement that, “The Honor Magic marks the culmination of Honor’s extended R&D efforts in bringing the best of technology to its customers. The Honor Magic breaks new ground by incorporating artificial intelligence designed to understand and analyze users’ data in order to provide intelligent interactive features.”
 
Running on a 2,900mAh non-removable battery, the phone is backed with Huaweis fast charging technology that charges from 0 to 70 percent in just 20 minutes. The phone measures 146.1 x 69.9 x 7.8mm in dimensions and will be available in two colour options of Golden Black, Porcelain White.
 
There is no official statement on the pricing yet, but there are possibilities that Huawei might bring the Honor Magic to other markets as well.
