Big Data problems investigated

Big Data problems are being investigated at the Institute of Information Technology, head of department Tahmasib Fataliyev informed about the research at the scientific seminar.

Data attains great importance in science, and registry, processing and analysis of scientific data are of actual issues, Mr.Fataliyev stated: “E-science plays a role of ‘’generator’’ of Big Data’’. The reporter informed about international organization and institutes working in this sphere, such as International Council for Science (ISCU), Information Committee on Data for Science and Technology (CODATA), which are conducting large-scale measures in this direction. Mr.Fataliyev also spoke about the recommendations and events on Big Data for scientific programs, World Data System, and the European Union “Big Data Europe’’ project.

‘’Conducting thematic research in Big Data for international scientific programs, promoting the exchange of Big Data solutions on various scientific fields, studying political, ethical and  legal, as well as, management  and stability issues of Big Data are of great importance”, he stated. Note that, “Big Data Europe’’ project covers healthcare, food, energy, transportation, climate, security and public sciences.
