ESET: 17% of users stick the webcam with tape

More than half of Internet users surveyed by the anti-virus company ESET are afraid of breaking their web cameras, gazeta.ru reports.

52% of respondents answered affirmatively to the question "Can hackers hack a webcam to your notebook?”.

To avoid breaking the webcam on the laptop, 17% of surveyed users stuck their webcams with tape or adhesive. Only 31% of respondents are not afraid of being followed via webcam, 12% of them do not realize who might be interested in it, 11% completely trust their antivirus programs, another 8% believe that breaking of the webcam is a fiction.
