Today is World Information Day

By initiative of the International Academy of Information November 26 is celebrated as the World Information Day. IAI has been granted a status of General Consultancy in the UN Social-economic Councils and the World Information Parliament. 
First International Information Forum, held on 26 November 1992 by IAI initiative was attended by over 10 000 scientists and experts form 29 countries. The Day was registered by UNESCO in 1994.
Information plays a great role in life. Word meaning has become especially significant since the 20th century when new technologies and achievements were put to use. This was followed by a so called blow. By various data, information amount increases twice and even more in every 10-12 years. During last 30 years, mankind formed the same amount of information as during the last 3 decades.
