Academician-Secretary of ANAS, director of the Institute of Information Technology of ANAS, acad. R.Aliguliyev attended the annual general assembly of the Austrian Academy of Sciences held on May 8, Vienna, Austria. Federal President of Austrian Republic Heinz Fischer, President of the Austrian Academy of Sciences Anton Zeilinger, Vice-Chancellor and Federal Minister Reinhold Mitterlehner, Professor Gerhard Kasper made speeches at the event, which is held since 1945, dedicated to the Austria's Freedom Day is celebrated on May 8. At the meeting, leading scientists and experts from various countries, was attended by state officials.

Note that the proposal for the establishment of the Austrian Academy of Sciences was put forward by the German philosopher Gottfried Leibniz in 1713. The Academy of Sciences was established in Vienna on May 14, 1847. In 1947, the organization was renamed the Austrian Academy of Sciences. 29 research institutes are operating under the ADA. The academy has 770 members and 1300research fellows in all scientific fields.
