Toshiba’s new 3D display technology may let mobile users switch between 2D and 3D January 05, 2015 | 03:00 / Technological innovations

Glasses-free 3D displays aren’t new, but glasses-free 3D displays that have 4K UHD are still works in progress. Toshiba, which is familiar with glasses-free 3D TVs has announced that it has a 4K UHD 3D display that will knock your socks off. The company hints that this may have implications for mobile screens.

Toshiba’s latest 3D display innovation obviates the need for cumbersome glasses and uses a “low-crosstalk, high-definition LCD GRIN lens with a 15-inch 4K LCD panel.” In other words, the display will have higher-definition 3D images with less of the double-vision issues that plague some 3D displays.
