Amazon chooses Cambridge to test delivery drones

Amazon is planning to test its fleet of unmanned delivery drones in Cambridge, as the high-tech research operations of the world’s largest online retailer take off in the UK.

The Seattle-based group announced last year it was creating Amazon Prime Air – a futuristic service that aims to use pilotless flying vehicles to deliver packages to millions of customers within half an hour of orders being placed.
