The next scientific seminar of the department No. 4 was held at the Institute of Information Technology of ANAS.

Rashid Alakbarov, Deputy Director of Technology,  said that the seminar was dedicated to "Technology and Innovation in Green Computing".

Speaking on the subject, Orkhan Mehdiyev gave detailed information about the general state of the existing data processing centers (VEMs), the consequences of environmental disasters, energy sources, distribution of energy consumption at VEMs, and alternative energy sources. 

He noted that according to the results of research by environmental research organizations, there is a 6th mass depletion that is caused by disease and human activity on Earth. Unless serious action is taken to prevent this process, by 2070 most of Earth's creatures will be destroyed.

He also spoke about the PEPecopassport® the international reference program for environmental declarations of products from electric, electronic and heating & cooling industries.

Speaking from Bloom Energy, the speaker emphasized that the main purpose of this project is to generate energy within the VEM.

He noted that the main task of the VEM in the 21st century is to ensure the free use of energy and sufficient reduction of financial costs.

He informed about the green certificate, which is currently widely used in the world.

In conclusion,  the report was discussed, questions answered.
