Google Translate for Android is smarter December 27, 2019 | 12:56 / Technological innovations

Google Translate has truly become significantly more accurate without even accessing cloud servers

One of the most commonly used functions of modern smartphones is translation from foreign languages. Often, a smartphone helps to understand what it would be almost impossible to do without it. For these purposes, the Google Translate application is often used.

According to iixbt.com, Google has updated the translator application for smartphones that are running the Android operating system. A few years ago, Google Translate introduced a standalone version. The developers claim that after the last update, the application allows you to translate the text 20% more accurately without an internet connection.

According to the report, the Google Translate app has indeed become significantly more accurate without even accessing cloud servers. In 59 languages, offline translations for word choice, grammar and sentence structure have become 12% better. In addition, in several languages, including Japanese, Korean and Polish, the translation has become 20% more accurate.

However, it is worthwhile to understand that without an Internet connection, the application has much less language packs and dictionaries available.
