Head of theInternational Relations Department of the Institute of Information Technology of ANAS, Ph.D. Babak Nabiyev attended the meeting of the General Assembly of the GEANT Association (Gigabit European Advanced Network Technology). The meeting was held with the participation of project executors from the Eastern Partnership countries,  joined the project.

At a bilateral meeting, B. Nabiyev and member of the General Assembly of the GEANT Association, Marko Bona​č, discussed new mechanisms for calculating the membership fee of GEANT. And it was noted that in the future it is possible to introduce these mechanisms into other international projects of GEANT.

He also held bilateral and multilateral meetings and discussions with GEANTl Member of Board Raimundus Tuminauskas, International Project Manager Veronika Di Luna, Coordinator of the “Special Interest Group on Marketing and Communications” Laura Durnford, and Research Engagement Officer Chris Atherton in connection with the (5th Eastern Partnership E-infrastructures Conference, EaPEC 2020).

During the visit, extensive discussions were held with the Director of Turkish Academic Network and İnformation Center of Turkey, member of the General Assembly Murat Satoglu and the prospects for further cooperation with the brother country were considered.

The General Assembly is GÉANT’s highest governing body. Representatives of member organizations meet at least twice per year.
