New mobile application will allow paralyzed people to communicate November 27, 2019 | 04:34 / Technological innovations

Pavel Egorov from Russia has created a free Ninochka communicator application for people suffering from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), Rossiyskaya Gazeta reports. With this disease, a person loses the ability to control his body and, as a result, communicate normally (the patient can only control eye movement, and speech function is lost).

The program solves this problem. It is intended not only for patients with ALS, but also for people with other neuromuscular diseases in a severe stage, meddaily.ru  reports. So, in essence, the program is an electronic version of the alphabet that combines the application and the communicator.

It is known: patients with ALS get tired quickly. Therefore, often all the advantages of standard i-trackers (eye-tracking systems) and devices based on encephalography are lost. The new program is easy to use and is a good alternative to paper alphabets. It is available for all Android phones and tablets on Google Play.
