The Russian company Neurodata Lab has created a service that allows using computer vision technology to recognize the emotions and pulse of a person by video and audio recordings.

The company sells this technology to large businesses: banks, insurance companies, telecommunications operators, retailers and research laboratories. The service can analyze the emotions of customers by their facial expressions and movements - by comparing statistics for different stores, the platform can offer various improvements.

According to hightech.fm, the platform is powered by computer vision and artificial intelligence. The system evaluates frames and analyzes metrics by facial expression, eye movement, posture, voice, speech, gestures. After this, the Neurodata Lab offers its vision of how a person feels in real-time.

Heart rate is also measured in the video. To do this, the neural network extracts the person’s face and neck from the video, after which the algorithms analyze the pixels in the selected area — their movement and color change. These values ​​can be associated with the saturation of blood with oxygen and the expansion of the capillaries - according to these data and calculate the pulse. Now technology measures the pulse with an accuracy of two beats per minute.

According to the developers, similar technology can also be used to analyze the behavior of taxi drivers, the developers say.
