The next scientific seminar of department No. 3 of the Institute of Information Technology of ANAS was held.

An employee of the department, Nargiz Verdiyeva, spoke at the seminar. She spoke about the stages of creating projects in citizen science, inclusive citizen science and ensuring security in personal data. She noted that in citizen science there are four levels of integration, such as age, level of education, physical condition and socialization.

Speaking about security issues, the speaker brought to the attention of basic information about personal data, their classification, personal data allowing identification of a citizen, race of a citizen, religious or ethnic origin, sensitive information about health, children and geographical areas.

She noted that the “General Data Protection Regulation” was created in Europe. The law was adopted on April 27, 2016, and entered into force on May 25, 2018. According to the law personal data regarding the subject must be processed legally, fairly and transparently.

Then, N. Verdiyeva mentioned the laws “On freedom of information”, “On protecting the online privacy of children on the Internet”, “On health insurance and reporting” and the “Law on Confidentiality”.

She noted that it is most beneficial to use their biometric data in an online environment in order to protect the personal data of citizens, and it is one of the reliable ways, as part of a citizen science projects.

In conclusion, the speaker noted that in the citizen science project, inclusiveness and security of personal data are forming factors that positively affect the development of science as a whole, as a new direction in electronic science.

Studies have shown that in the modern period, the accelerated development of ICT, including IoT, the use of network and cloud technologies, leads to the widespread use of science, in particular, the civilian direction of e-science, the number of civilian scientific projects and volunteers is growing.

After listening to the report, an exchange of views took place, questions were answered.
