3D printer for dentures created November 14, 2019 | 11:22 / Technological innovations

Formlabs has announced the creation of a special 3D printer for printing dentures. It is intended, of course, for dental clinics.
It is reported that the new product should go on sale in a few months. In general, Formlabs uses its own technology of laser stereolithography (SLA) in the device. With this method, the liquid material solidifies layer by layer under the action of a laser beam. Therefore, the technology is highly accurate.

The new printer is called Form 3b. It will be delivered immediately with special software. The company claims to have invested more than a million dollars in the development of special medical resins for the device. Thanks to this, it can quickly and inexpensively create crowns and bridges, cleaning fixtures, guides for dental implantation procedures, special protective devices for the oral cavity and even solid prostheses.
