Engineers Create Wearable Programmable Roborists November 12, 2019 | 10:04 / Interesting information

An international group of engineers from Japan and France has created a pair of wearable robot arms that allow the user to interact with objects. The development will be presented at the SIGGRAPH Asia 2019 conference.

Robot arms are mounted on the back of the user, on the wrist of each of them there is a controller for controlling finger movements. Fingers can move separately, clench into a fist or open - this allows you to make the device more agile and mobile.

The device works with objects in two stages - first the roboruk brushes capture and fix it, and then begin to perform various manipulations.

During the demonstration, the researchers showed how, with the help of a robot arms, an engineer first grabs a tray, and then swaps the items laid out on it. The paper says that a robot arm can help the user with lifting heavy objects.
