Facebook develops universal augmented reality glasses September 19, 2019 | 11:55 / Interesting information

Facebook experts are working on a new product, codenamed Orion.

Facebook augmented reality glasses are created in collaboration with major manufacturer of designer optics Luxottica Group, which owns Ray-Band, Prada and Oakley.

The device is powered by Facebook engineers from Reality Labs in Redmond, Washington. Very little is known about the technical component of the future product, but Mark Zuckerberg personally monitors the project.

Facebook intends to create glasses that can become a full replacement for the smartphone. The user will be able to make calls, sit on the Internet and social networks. All this will be with the participation of a virtual assistant with augmented reality function. You can control it with the help of voice or gestures.

The social network plans to conduct the first tests of the new gadget by 2023, and in 2025 to bring the product to the market. It is possible that this will happen earlier and very soon network users will be able to see augmented reality glasses from Facebook in action.
