The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed a decree on the approval of “Regulation on the Application of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan” on the “Personal identity card of the citizen under 15 of the Republic of Azerbaijan”.

According to the regulation, the Cabinet of Ministries shall provide the citizen under 15 of the Republic of Azerbaijan with personal identity cards from December 1, 2015, shall take necessary measures to solve financial problems related to the development of personal identity cards and obtaining proper technical means, and shall inform the President of Azerbaijan about the implementations each six months.

Ministry of Economy and Industry is responsible to choose appropriate person with international experience in this field, and to ensure legal agreement to develop.

Note that, according to the law, these personal identity cards of the citizens under 15 are effectual only in the territory of Azerbaijan. These cards will be given at the request of parents, adoptive parents, custodians or guardians of the citizen.
