A report on the topic “Detection of plagiarism and services to combat it” was presented by senior research associate of the department Rakhila Hasanova. She said that plagiarism is a kind of cybercrime.

The speaker said that in the modern world, plagiarism legislation was developed in many countries and that plagiarism in these countries is considered to be the same criminal offense as “fraud”, “theft”, etc., that the offender must compensate for the damage caused plagiarism.

Speaking about the international experience in this field, R. Hasanova noted that public condemnation of plagiarism by people is now considered a useful mechanism. According to her, these people lose their duties and scientific names without being held legally responsible.

She also spoke about the legal, social and social aspects of the fight against plagiarism and stressed the importance of plagiarism education, training plagiarism specialists and teaching this knowledge in higher educational institutions.

R.Hasanova conducted a comparative analysis of such anti-plagiarism programs as Plag Aware, PlagScan, iThenticate, CheckFor Plagiarism.
