As it is known, on August 4-11, 2019, the International Olympiad in Informatics  will be held in Baku.  After a successful bid, in October 2015, Azerbaijan became the Future Host for IOI 2019. In September 2018, Azerbaijani delegation received the IOI flag at IOI 2018 in Japan and became Host Country for IOI 2019.

The 31st International Informatics Olympiad to be held in our country this year is expected to be attended by 90 countries and nearly 500 pupils and teachers.

According to the Order signed by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Novruz Mammadov, the Organizing Committee was established in connection with holding the International  Olympiad in Informatics in Baku. As noted in the decree, the vice-president of ANAS, director of the Institute of Information Technology of ANAS, academician Rasim Alguliyev will is in the Organizing Committee.

Azerbaijan started participation in the IOI in 1994, and since then, it has been part of the IOI community.
