Microsoft adapted a virtual reality for people with low vision

The developers of the company Microsoft has created a set of software functions for VR helmets that facilitates users with visual impairments perception of the virtual world.

Developers have created 14 features, which can be divided into two groups according to the features implementing them. Nine functions are implemented as plugins that can be used with any application for helmets HTC Vive.

Some of the functions available as a plug-in allow you to enlarge the image and carry out other visual manipulations, for example, to increase the brightness and contrast, as well as darken the peripheral parts of the visual field. Others use more complex mechanisms and allow, for example, to select the outlines of objects and read the text.
