The next scientific seminar of Department No. 13 was held at the Institute of Information Technology of ANAS. 

The presentation “Iterative Clustering Algorithms” was presented by a Ph.D. student of the Institute Shalala Mansurova.

The speaker gave detailed information about clustering algorithms and their types (“Partitioning”, “Grid-based”, “Density-based”, etc.), as well as iterative clustering algorithms, a type of clustering algorithms. She noted that iterative clustering algorithms consist of several iterations and are used to improve results. She stressed that the iterative clustering algorithms are of such types as the algorithms "IK-means- +", "The Simple Linear Iterative Clustering (SLIC)", "MapReduce".

She then gave information about the SLIC algorithm. The speaker said that this algorithm is used both in the image analysis algorithm and in the content of deep learning methods. According to her, “SLIC”, which is considered one of the most popular algorithms used to create superpixels in image analysis, consists of three stages.

Views on presentation were exchanged and questions were answered.
