The next scientific seminar of the department No.13 was held at the Institute of Information Technology of ANAS.

The master’s student of the institute, Aygul Fakhraddinqizi, presented a report on "The social capital assessment of individuals in the information society".

She provided information about the information society, social capital, its forms, scope and sources, approaches to social capital, and social capital measurement.

She shared the views of various sociologists like Pierre Bourdieu, James Coleman, Wayne Baker, Robert Putnam on social capital. Sociologist R.Putnam said that social capital offers a threefold model of social norms, social relations, trust.

The reporter also provided information on trust-based, index-rating and world-class methods for measuring social capital.

In the end, views on presentation were exchanged and questions were answered. The head of department, correspondent member of ANAS, doctor of technical sciences Ramiz Aliguliyev put forward his thoughts on the presentation.
