In the US, created a robot-killer bacteria January 23, 2019 | 02:03 / Technological innovations

The year 2019 has just begun, and a small development team has already raised $ 1.2 million to create CleanseBot. This is a pocket robot designed to kill germs.

The startup participants were inspired by research conducted at the University of Houston. In it, scientists tested 19 surfaces in hotel rooms for the presence of bacteria and found that only on the light switches there were on average 112.7 colony-forming units of bacteria per cubic centimeter. For comparison, for hospitals where sterile cleanliness should be maintained, an upper limit of only five colony-forming bacteria per cubic centimeter is recommended.

The CleanseBot team tested the robot on 40 different types of materials and fabrics for sheets and blankets, on beds of different sizes and shapes in order to collect and analyze all the necessary data for AI and sensors.

The cleaning robot has 18 sensors and an intelligent mapping technology with which the robot can travel on any surface without falling or getting stuck. The creators claim that mapping in CleanseBot is a unique development, which has no analogues in the world.

The robot also works with a Panasonic battery with a 3700 mAh. Thanks to this, CleanseBot is also a powerful charger.

n addition to hotels, the robot can be used at home - for disinfection of toys, equipment and car interiors.

The project was successful: instead of the planned $ 100,000, it was possible to collect 10 times more. Now on pre-order CleanseBot can be purchased for $ 99.
