At the meeting of the Scientific Board of the Institute of Information Technology of ANAS, the report of the Department No3 for 2018 was discussed. The head of the department, Tahmasib Fataliyev, presented the report and gave information about the scientific-research activity of the department staff. He said that in the current year investigations have been carried out to study the scientific-theoretical problems of information technologies and the formation of information society and to develop effective methods. The role of e-science in the development of citizen science and e-science formation problems in the context of its new trends, the impact of citizen science on the development of other sciences, as well as the problems of information security of civil science have been studied.

The speaker also said that the problems of energy security of e-science infrastructure are being investigated and a system that provides energy security for the infrastructure is suggested. He noted that in the oil and gas complex the world experience in the application of Internet Technologies has been analyzed, the existing technical (sensors, communication, network, servers, computing, memory equipment, etc.) and software have been studied. The architectural and technological principles and conceptual model of the application of Internet technologies in the oil and gas complex have been developed.

Talking about the work done within the framework of scientific and innovation activities, T.Fataliyev noted that in this direction the grant projects “Development of new methods and algorithms for the synthesis of electronic science and its functional subsystems” funded by the Science Development Fund under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and “Investigation of the problems of application of Internet of Things technologies in the oil and gas industry” funded by the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic has been continued.

The speaker said that he participated in international and national scientific conferences this year and published articles in well-known scientific journals. He also gave detailed information about scientific-pedagogical and scientific-organizational activities in the department, promotion of scientific-practical results in mass media and measures taken within international scientific cooperation.

Then, discussions were held around the report, and the questions were answered. By the decision of the scientific board, the department report was considered satisfactory.
