The next scientific seminar on "Correlation and Regression Analysis" was held at the Institute of Information Technology of ANAS.

Senior Researcher Aybeniz Aliyeva introduced the presentation. For the first time in the 19th century, the English version of correlation was found in the studies of F. Galton and K.Pearson.

As a result of the development of computer technology and the creation of modern software products, regression and correlation analysis has become widely used in the research of dependencies and relationships between economic events, she noted. Correlation is a bivariate analysis that measures the strength of association between two variables and the direction of the relationship. Regression analysis is the method of analysis used to determine the dependence between two or more variables.

According to her, the establishment of econometric models and adequacy testing are directly related to correlation and regression analysis of mathematical statistics. The main problem of correlation analysis is to reveal the relationship between variables and to assess its intensity.
