The company General Dynamics has released a new underwater robot (UUV) Bluefin-9. The underwater vehicle can be used to monitor the environment, participate in exploration and search and recovery operations.

Bluefin-9 weighs 70 kg and reaches almost 2.5 m in length. He is able to descend to a depth of 200 m, and the duration of his work is eight hours.

The underwater drone can be launched into the water from any place: it has two carrying handles.

The device is equipped with a sonar, cameras for machine vision and a sound speed sensor that measures temperature and pressure.

Also, a turbidity sensor and an inertial control system are built into the UUV, with which it transmits the received data to the onboard computers. To do this, the robot uses GPS antennas, Wi-Fi and acoustic communication.
