The scientific seminar of the Institute of Information Technology of ANAS was devoted to the theme “Investigation of multidimensional correlations of factors influencing the formation of the composite index of information economy and its formation”.

Head of department, PhD on economics, associate professor Alovsat Aliyev gave detailed information about information and knowledge economy indicators and indices, accountability features of enterprises and organizations operating in information and knowledge sphere, calculation of gross domestic product (GDP) formed by information and knowledge basis.

The reporter said that in the evaluation of the complex development of the new type of economy, science, innovation and ICT have a special role. He spoke about economic and technological readiness index, the digital economy and thesociety index, the global competitiveness index and the global creativity index, the economic stimulus and institutional regime index, characterizing the economy of information and knowledge, and presented the ratings of the countries on the global innovation index.

The speaker spoke about new information, knowledge and technological economics areas. These fields include ICT economics, space economics, bioeconomy, nanoeconomy, language economy, medical economics, education economy, science economy, ecological (green) economy, patent (license) economy etc.

He also presented the method of calculating the GDP, which was formed at the expense of information and knowledge, talking about index and subindex that form the IKE composite index. He noted that the iKE composite indices included the index of formation of the information society, science and education development index, the National Innovation System formation index, technical and transport infrastructure index, macroeconomic system and business environment  index, stability of socio-political and legal environment dynamics index etc.

According to the speaker, composite indexes are useful tools for evaluating, analyzing and comparing the level of development of society and economy. The composite index and indicators are derived from a combination of individually measured indices based on a multidimensional criterion, allowing the composite index to evaluate the effectiveness of the IKE.

A.Aliyev presented a table showing the main indices and indicators forming the IKE composite index and pointed out the stages of consistent formulation of the IKE indexes, metrics and indicators.

Discussions were held around the report, questions were answered.
