On July 5, 2018, an international scientific-practical conference on "The possibilities and prospects of application of information technologies and systems in construction" was launched jointly by Azerbaijan Architecture and Construction University and Institute of Control Systems of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences. The conference was attended by relevant government agencies, higher education institutions and responsible persons of scientific-research institutes of ANAS, media representatives, as well as employees of the Institute of Information Technology of ANAS.

Academician-Secretary of ANAS, Director of the Institute of Information Technology, academician Rasim Alguliyev spoke on the application of information technologies in construction. Noting the importance of the conference, the scientist pointed out that today great achievements have been made in the construction sector of Azerbaijan, which is currently under development, and has made significant contributions to the world architectural treasury in this field over the last decades.

Speaking about the rapid development of Baku and the regions in modern times, the scientist stressed that besides factors such as governance and market economy, information technology, computer and applied mathematics also play a very important role.

The speaker said that as a result of the rapid development of information society in Azerbaijan, the expansion of ICT infrastructure and rapid development of electronic information, e-government, e-science, e-learning, and electronic media were created in the country with the wide application of information technologies in various socio-economic spheres.  He noted that the implementation of the "Electronic Azerbaijan" state program in Azerbaijan, the broadening of the sensors network on the Internet platform and the creation of cyber-fiscal systems have led to a new stage in our country.

Academician R. Alguliev said that today information technologies in the world are widely used in construction, three-dimensional diameter of construction materials, architecture and sculpture models in international exhibitions, smart-buildings, and computer modeling of cities.

The academician-secretary of ANAS underlined that the issues facing E-Azerbaijan, the state programs adopted in this direction were successfully implemented and proposed the implementation of new, innovative infrastructure projects on the basis of cyberphisics systems under the influence of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
