Action plan of Department No 12 of the Institute of Information Technology of ANAS for 2018 was discussed. The head of department Madina Saidova, spoke about the research wors that will be conducting at the department.

The reporter noted that studies on the development of indexes for evaluating the activities of scientific journals and researchers in the field of e-science, the study of scientometricmethods and algorithms by the application of modern information technologies, research of "predatory publishing" and "Hijacked journals" in international academic databases.

M. Saidova also spoke about the works to be done in Azerbaijan on the problems of the formation of intelligent e-libraries and the implementation of solutions. According to her, creation of intelligentl e-libraries based on cloud technologies, studying the world experience in this direction üere considered.

Then she spoke about the works to be done to create an intelligent system that would provide some services for the Azerbaijani language in the e-government. She said that the introduction of the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) for modeling the impact of information on ICT using international standards and the development of proposals for checking the level of knowledge of the Azerbaijani language, teaching and evaluating it as a foreign language, and modeling the impact of information on social networks is envisaged.

M.Saidova gave detailed information on scientific-innovative and practical activities of the department's employees for the current year. She said that a number of measures will be taken to complete the compilation, cataloging, systematization and dissemination of scientific and technical information. She also emphasized that the work on membership in international scientific and technical societies would continue.

Speaking about the international scientific cooperation of the department, the reporter as a member of the Azerbaijan Library Information Consortium noted that in the current year it is envisaged to create access to information databases such as "EBSCO", "EIFL" and others, and to cooperate with Exlibris on the improvement and accomplishment of the Alephino Library Management System.

She also talked about scientific and pedagogical and scientific-organizational activities of the department, participation in scientific-technical conferences, publication of articles in well-known scientific journals, preparation of books and booklets and the promotion of scientific and practical results in mass media.

At the end, a detailed exchange of views on the action plan was made and a number of proposals were sounded.
