Academician Rasim Alguliev, academician-secretary of ANAS, Director of the Institute of Information Technology, academician Rasim Alguliev made a speech at the next meeting of Presidium of ANAS. Today there are serious problems with the teaching of mathematics in Azerbaijan, and special tasks in the field of science and education of the country have been stopped, the scientist noted. Emphasizing the importance of the development of mathematical knowledge and thinking in the integration of Azerbaijani science into world science, he emphasized the necessity of wider use of mathematical modeling in scientific researches.

According to academician-secretary of ANAS, the scientific and educational institutions functioning in Azerbaijan in connection with studying and applying mathematics, which are the basis of fundamental science, should combine their efforts, conduct regular seminars and conferences, conduct awareness raising.

R. Alguliyev also made a number of suggestions on the teaching of mathematics and its application in science. He pointed out that it is advisable to teach the mathematics subject at the Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics and to train specialists in various fields here. The importance of studying international experience in the relevant field for the implementation of these tasks, the scientist emphasized.
