The next scientific seminar of the department № 18 was held at the Institute of Information Technology of ANAS. At the seminar, the head of the department Anar Samidov's report “Polygraphy, the process of preparing printing materials” was heard.

The speaker firstly informed about polygraphy and process of printing press. He said that this process consists of 7 key points: a design project, the format of the print product, the creation of the worker file, the choice of color shade and so on.

Then A.Samidov gave detailed information about the design project. He said the design is the most important phase of the polygraphy. The main purpose is to attract the attention of the consumers to the interest of printing products and to their interest. According to him, the general project of the polygraphic product is formed at the first stage. Then the designer chooses a color, works in a common style and selects fonts as well as sketches of approximate location of individual elements. Only then begins to implement a computer model of the model of the polygraphic product.

Speaking about the format of the print product, A.Samidov emphasized that first and foremost, it should be noted correctly and most importantly, the real dimensions of the model. He also said that the product should be pre-planned in whatever format paper it will print.

He also provided information on setting up worker file, selecting color shades, working with fonts, setting parameters, defining lines and defining the backup area.
