The technology of entering and controlling a computer with the help of a glance will be available in Windows 10 August 04, 2017 | 04:07 / Technological innovations

The Eye Control feature, which helps users with motor system disorders manage a computer, will become part of Windows 10.

Participants in the Windows Insiders program can already try this feature, and officially it will be released together with Windows 10 Creators Update this fall.

Some functions from the Eye Control set are designed to replace the mouse, others - the keyboard. An innovative method of recognizing shape-writing allows you to quickly enter text with eye movements: the user, looking at the virtual keyboard, delays looking at the first letter of the word, and then can quickly see through all the following symbols, nanonewsnet.ru  reports.

This is much more efficient than typing in one letter, which requires keeping a glance at each of them. Eye Control users also have hints that make the process of printing look even easier.

To use the new features of the system, you need a camera controller Eye Tracker 4C from Tobii.

For the development of Eye Control in Microsoft is now responsible for a special development team, while everything began as part of the project on a weekly hackathon in 2014. According to his results, the judges selected winners among 3000 projects, and the head of the company Satya Nadella presented the main prize to the creators of the technology that formed the basis of Eye Control.

Inspiration for the team was the letter Steve Gleason - a former famous American football player suffering from motor neuron disease. Gleason called for creating new technological solutions that could make life easier for people limited in the ability to move.
