The International Telecommunication Union has compiled the Global Cybersecurity Index. According to the Global Cybersecurity Index 2017, compiled by the International Telecommunication Union, Estonia ranks fifth in the world and the first in Europe in the rating of cybersecurity.

The top 5 countries of the global ranking include Singapore, the United States, Malaysia, Oman and Estonia. Total in the list of 195 countries. In Europe, Estonia, France and Norway are leading, psm7.com reports.

The Global Cybersecurity Index is compiled on the basis of five criteria: legislation, technical capacity, organizational capacity, capacity building and cooperation.

Since 2007, when Estonia was the first country in the world to become a victim of cyber conflict, the cybersecurity sector began to develop here with enviable activity. Estonia signed a treaty on the development of cybersecurity with Austria, Luxembourg and South Korea.

Among the CIS countries, Georgia ranks first, Russia the second and Belarus the third. Ukraine in the report is mentioned in the group of "developing" ("maturing") countries in the cybersecurity sector.
