A report of No.1 department was delivered at the Institute of Information Technology. Project chief engineer of the Institute, head of  department, PhD Makrufa Hajirahimova presented annual report for 2016. She  gave information about scientific research, scientific innovation activities and conference lectures, publication of artricles in well-known scientific journals. Scientific-theoretical problems such as videotext, audio and social media analytics covering  main aspects of Big Data analytics, interpretation of analytical results,  hazards of big data analytics were researched. At the same time, the problems of big data architecture and its main functional components: Data Extraction, Stream Processing, Data Integration, Data Storage and others were investigated, she noted.

Data processing stages (data collection, integration, analysis, application) were investigated, recommendations were put forward to overcome problems detected in every stage, also, e-library and problems of Big Data were researched, Makrufa Hajirahimova noticed.

Big Data challenges of the United States, Japan, Britain and other developed countries, as well as, initial indicators for the measurement of Big Data and comparative analysis of the existing methodological approaches were investigated and analyzed.

Head of department participated in the grant project of Science Fund of SOCAR on analysis of Big Data technologies for the oil and gas industry within the framework of scientific innovation activities. She also informed about scientific- pedagogical and scientific-organizational activities of colleagues of the department, promotion of scientific -practical results on mass media and scientometric indicators.

In the end, there was an exchange of views on the subject, many questions were answered.
