A next scientific seminar of No.1 department on subject ‘’A number of methodological approaches in the field of Big Data measurement’’ was held at the Institute of Information Technology.

The fellow of department Aybeniz Aliyeva delivered a report. She informed about the map of Big Data all around the world and in  countries, distribution on technology and areas, a number of methodological approaches in the measurement of Big Data.

She introduced Big Data distribution according years, regions, ratings of information per capita, statistics on the share of information in the countries.

In the period of 2018-2020, development of high productivity supercomputer enable to operate trillions of computing operations per second is intended, she said. A. Aliyeva presented ranking the World's Top Supercomputers.United States, China, Japan, Germany are in the first place by the number of supercomputers. According to him, Russia's fastest supercomputer 1,849 Pflops productivity "Lomonosov - 2" ranks 36th on the list.

Then, she gave detailed information about existing methodologies in the field of Big Data measurement. The measurement of repeated digital information of IDC, measurement of  stored and transmitted information of  researchers at the The University of California, Berkeley, P.Lyaman and HR Varian, measurement of information by  consumption of researches of San Diego University, Roger E. Bohn,Ja mes EShort and other approaches were investigated.

 In the end, there was an exchange of views on the subject, many questions were answered.
