A scientific seminar dedicated to the development of indicators characterizing innovative environment in the techno parks of No. 8 department was held at the Institute of Information Technology.

First, head of  department, associate professor Alovsat Aliyev spoke about the importance of ICT, knowledge and innovation in the modern  economic development, brought to the attention formation and management challenges of scientific-technical profile technoparks. The formation of innovative environment is an important factor affecting the efficiency of techno parks management, he noted.

A report was introduced by senior research fellow of the institute Roza Shahverdiyeva. She informed about  specific characteristics of the innovative processes and activities in the technoparks, development of indicators characterizing innovative environment in the techno parks.

These issues have been reflected in the  Concept of “Azerbaijan 2020: vision to the future”, “National Strategy for Information Society Development in Azerbaijan for 2014-2020”, “Law of Science” of the Republic of Azerbaijan”, “State Program on socio-economic development of the regions of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2014-2018” and the new Charter of ANAS .

Establishment of technology parks gives opportunities for increasing sustainable development and competitiveness of economy, expansion of innovation and high-tech  based on modern scientific and technological achievements, formation of innovative companies, building of new jobs for highly qualified specialists, improve the interaction between educational and research institutes and industry, Roza Shahverdiyeva said.

Reporter spoke about activity areas specialized in techno parks. These areas encompass spheres such as  ICT and telecommunications, biotechnology, environment, healthcare and pharmaceutics, electronics, software engineering, computer sciences and its, business and  industrial services, nanotechnology, she  said.

In the end, there was an exchange of views on the report, questions were answered.
