The rapid development of modern information and communication technologies, expansion of opportunities of the Internet media created conditions for widespread use of social media. Number of different information resources about our country's history, culture, education and other social sectors has significantly increased and the development of national content, as well as on the effective use of new media tools have made it necessary to take into measures.

I republic scientific-practical conference “Multidisciplinary problems of social media” which will be held in December this year organized by the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, Azerbaijan Press Council and Institute of Information Technology of ANAS serve the objectives of cooperation of the involvement of scientists and experts and aspect of social media in the context of the information society in order to solve the problems of the scientific community.

Head of the sector of the Institute of Information Technology-Rasim Mahmudov gave information at a meeting of the Scientific Board of the Institute. The heads of the relevant government agencies, scientists and experts from research institutes of ANAS, higher educational institutions, non-governmental organizations, the business sector and the media, as well as social media activists are expected to attend, he said.

He noted that research on the issue dedicated to various aspects of social media, scientific, analytical, technological, legal, economic, social, psychological, linguistic, cultural and others would be presented.

 Academician-secretary of ANAS, director of the Institute of Information Technologies of ANAS, academician R.Aliguliyev stated that it is the first conference that will be held at the decision of the Presidium of ANAS dedicated to the multidisciplinary problems of the nature of social media.
