The first Spartakiad on checkers, chess, table tennis and football among the 15 institutes of the Academy of Sciences is being organized with the support of the Independent Trade Union.

On September 28, the final matches of the competition took place in the table tennis at the Institute of Physics. The competition was held in accordance with the rules of the International Table Tennis Federation. According to the results of the competition held among men, the employee of the Institute of information Technology of ANAS Gurban Gurbanov ranked the 1^st, and Fizuli Bayramov (the Institute of Physics) and Tural Mustafayev (the Institute of information Technology) ranked 2nd and 3rd respectively.

An employee of the Institute of Physics Sevda Garibova ranked the 1st, Saida Mammadova from the Institute of Physics  ranked the 2nd, and Lala Piriyeva from the Republic Seismological Centre ranked the 3rd.

Note that I Spartakiad will run until October 7.
