An event dedicated to the global assessment (external audit) of  the National Statistical System by the European Statistical Office, the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe and the European Free Trade Association was hosted.

The main objective of the global assessment is evaluation modern level of country’s official statistics system within administrative and technical capacity in the field of statistics, audit of compliance of the national statistics to international standards and European Statistics to code of practice.

Coordination and programming mechanisms of the State Statistics Committee, as well as, a presentation about  legal, institutional and organizational structure of the national statistical system including dissemination policy of contact (communication) and information was presented with slides. The global assessment of the national statistical system will affect on the statistics system positively, officers of European Statistical Office and experts on global assessment noted.

The main principle of a global assessment is voluntariness, evaluation of administrative capacity in the field of statistics, correspondence of technical aspects and national statistics to international standards are the main duties.

Head of department of the Institute of Information Technology, assistant professor Alovsat Aliyev took part in the event. Problems on scientific and educational innovation and ICT, social and economic systems, improvement of statistical processes on innovative entrepreneurship  fields  according to the new economic conditions were discussed with the participants.
