Department No. 3 of the Institute of Information Technology of ANAS held the following seminar.

The event was opened by the head of the department Tahmasib Fataliyev. He noted that achievements in the field of information technology have caused a significant increase in the volume of scientific data, at the same time, it has created the problem of their storage and processing. The solution of the problems mentioned at ANAS is being implemented within the framework of "e-Science" project. Network platform of e-Science AzScienceNet and its Data Center with large memory and computational resources provide technical support to the project. Scientific data processing is of great importance, Mr. Fataliyev mentioned and emphasized that the seminar was devoted to the topic “Intensive processing of scientific data”.

An employee of the department Nargiz Verdiyeva presented a report stating that as a unified system, e-science consists of various subsystems in accordance with the resolved issues. Information support of science, scientometric (Scientometrics, bibliometrics, webometrics) analysis, data mining, and Big Data sub-systems lead to the generation of large volumes of scientific data, as well as solve the current issues.

The speaker noted some examples of intensive data processing and reported on the trends and prospects for the problem solution.

The seminar participants exchanged views on the subject and expressed their suggestions and recommendations.
