Epileptic teenager treated with help of robot doctor February 04, 2016 | 03:46 / Technological innovations
A teenager has been cured of epilepsy thanks to a robot which created a map of his brain. Billy Whitaker, 15, suffered daily seizures for seven years.

Conventional brain surgery failed to help but neurosurgeons cured him by using a £350,000 robot which drilled electrodes deep into his brain. It pinpointed the centre of his attacks with minute accuracy by producing a 3D map, enabling surgeons to remove a tiny piece of seizure-causing tissue.
