Academician Rasim Alguliyev: “Young researchers must grow into a generation with high intellectual potential”

The Institute of Information Technology of the Ministry of Science and Education hosted a meeting with members of its Council of Young Scientists and Specialists.

AZERTAC reports that Academician Rasim Alguliyev, Vice-President of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) and Director General of the Institute, delivered a speech at the meeting. He noted that the country has created extensive opportunities for the comprehensive development of young people, including pursuing education at prestigious global universities and participating in international scientific projects. The scholar emphasized that President Ilham Aliyev has signed several decrees and orders, as well as adopted state programs in this direction: “As a result of these targeted measures, a new generation with high intellectual potential, a national mindset, and a strong spirit of patriotism is emerging in Azerbaijan.”

The ANAS Vice-President called on young researchers to conduct impactful research that addresses key national scientific problems.

The scholar highlighted that the widespread adoption of digital and artificial intelligence technologies presents new challenges globally, adding that Azerbaijan is dynamically advancing in this direction and actively engaging in digital transformation: “Under these conditions, the younger generation in our country must acquire modern knowledge and skills, improve their language proficiency, and become active citizens of the digital environment.”

Then, Academician Rasim Alguliyev advised young people to pay close attention to the ongoing processes and modern challenges in the field of digitalization and artificial intelligence, both nationally and globally. He also emphasized that young researchers should closely follow state policy implemented in our country and stay well-informed about adopted strategic documents, decrees, orders, state programs, and strategies. 

Concluding his speech, Academician Alguliyev urged the youth to take an active part in the scientific and public life of the Institute, demonstrate initiative, and pursue goal-oriented activities.

Following the address, a vote was held among council members, electing Nargiz Guliyeva, a doctoral student at the institute, as Chair of the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists.

In her speech, Nargiz Guliyeva stated that she would spare no effort to efficiently organize the council’s activities, unite young scientists and specialists, and further boost their scientific and social engagement.
